Am I starting off good in my exercise routine?
I’ve been drinking nothing but water, and always drink 100 oz. a day. Currently, I’ve been doing situps, pushups(20), crunches(50), and well, jumping jacks (100). I increase the situp count by 10 everyday as well. Since we don’t have a treadmill, I get on the family’s ski tread and work at for 5 mins, though I’m going to try increase that daily too.
I do all these twice a day(morning, evening), but my body seems to have adapted, so I’m going for an afternoon workout as well. As for meals, I eat three times a day, with just cereal for breakfast, fruit for lunch and dinner, and whatever else my mother fixes that’s ok.
Is all this adeqaute for a 6’0″+ 200 lb guy that wants to shed embarassing belly fat? I’m thinking of beginning to walk/jog as well, but I wanted input on this first. I’m really not concerned with the weight, just getting rid of that excess fat on the sides of my stomach. I know it’s generic, but after a month of this will I see any change?

jog 1.5 miles
walk 4 miles
every day? or every other day? which is better?
My mother is a fitness expert and says it’s fine, but I just want to make sure.
What is the best way to build yourself up to jogging?
Right now I walk 3miles a day with my baby in the baby jogging stroller. I want to try jogging, but I want to make sure that my body is ready for it. When I walk now I don’t feel the burn as much and I really want to tighten up my legs!!
How can I convince my mother to lose weight?
My family lives a very healthy lifestyle- except my mom. My dad goes jogging every single day and does 100 push ups as he runs, as does my sister in college. I am on a select swim team and swim 4-5 days a week. I am only slightly overweight ( Everyone swears I’m not, but I eat a ton. I don’t have love handles either.) My mom… not so much. She is largely overweight and is always eating chocolate and candies. I constantly find her eating two bowls of ice cream a day. I am embarrassed when she meets new friends of mine and when we go swimming at the local pool with friends.She likes to talk about other people’s weight, but not her own. She doesn’t like veggies too much either. What can I do to convince her to exercise (she never does) or to eat right?
My little sis has a math problem that she cant answer, and my mother and i dont agree on the answer…?

Velma jogs 1 lap around the track each day for two weeks. In the third and fourth weeks, she jogs 3 laps each day around the track. During the next two weeks, she runs 6 laps each day. During the fifth and sixth weeks, her goal is to jog 10 laps each day. If this pattern continues, how many laps will she run each day during the seventh and eighth weeks?

was walking 5 miles a day now jogging 3 miles a day.?
I am a mother of 3 chidren. the youngest is almost 9 months old.i still have about 20 lbs to lose to get to by goal weight. i was walking 5 miles a day for several years now. but here recently i can do it almost without breaking a sweat. so i have been reading on the internet and it suggests to step it up a bit.so i started jogging. wow! i am using muscles i thought i never had.im definetly sweating out there!
i have been doing this a week now.but i weighed this morning and have gained 2 pounds!! i guess it could be muscle weight that i have gained. not sure. but when will i start losing weight?
also…i am still a breastfeeding mother
and can tell in my clothes are getting looser.
atkins,jogging,and pilates for flat abs?
i’m a 30 year old mother of 3. i’m 5″1 and currently weight 100lbs
I don’t mind adding a few pounds to my weight as long as it’s lean muscle and my abs are flat. I have a tiny pooch around my abs that is driving me nuts so i’ve decided to start working out everyday to help lose it. i’m a size 1 and would like to stay that way.
i use atkins b/c I’ve noticed it’s the only diet that actually works for me number 1, and number 2-if I try to eat anything other than high proteins and low carbs-I get quite sick. I eat around 50-60 carbs per day right now to maintain my weight.
i’ve been jogging 2 miles per day since 8-1 but I’m working my way up to doing 3 miles/day. I work nightshift 3 nights per week and during those days, I run up/down 10 flights of stairs as well.
I use a stablilty ball every other day (doing exercises such as stand-up pushups, crunches, russian twists, bench press, leg lifts). all of these exercises are done on the ball w/2lb weights in each hand. I also do a 20 min core strengthening routine directly after using the ball. I do 24 of each of these:
-crunches
-reverse crunches
-bicycle
-leg lifts
-push-ups on my forearms
-side bends
I also do some thigh toning exercises but I don’t know the names of them.
I can tell it is working-my pants are baggier around my thighs and it seems like there isn’t as much fat to grab around my tummy (not as much as there used to be) but it’s only been a week.
Is this diet/workout routine going to be an effective one? am I exercising enough?
